Blairmore Gallery & Coffee Shop has been a part of Blairmore for over 20 years. It’s in an idyllic location, in the village of Blairmore, which is about 10 miles from Dunoon. It looks straight out on to the banks of Loch Long, where you can often see porpoises swimming by and navy and other boats sailing along. The great thing about it is that there are four big windows along the length of the shop front, allowing maximum ability to soak up the amazing views even from the inside of the shop. There is a pier just opposite and the Waverley Boat, which is the last sea going paddle steamer in the world, still comes to visit once a week during the Summer season.

Currently I display around 50 local artists and crafters work on the walls, shelves and cabinets. In non-covid circumstances we have tables inside seating up to 20 people and we have a further 3 outside tables seating two at each. There are also a couple of community owned benches just opposite the gallery and 3 picnic tables available on the field for general public use. Due to Covid I decided that if I allowed inside service as usual then it would really restrict socially distant access to the shop / gallery side. So what I have done as a temporary solution is to provide takeaway service only and access to the shop/gallery for now. This seems to be going down really well. Currently we serve homemade soup, filled rolls, toasties, jacket potatoes, ploughman’s, scones and cakes.
